HOLY CRAP"
I just found a story on another website detailing this exact problem. I thought it was just a Blogger who got pissed off with Ebay. This guy was right on the money. If you want to hear his story, go to www.rareiron.com. It has now opened my eyes.
Jerry Melvin
P.S
If there is a need for legal fee's, you can count on me.

Please do not get into the auction biz the only sellers left on EBay are a bunch of crooks. Big bizzness on ebay is the ads and false links that take you to other sites fees, rates and PayPal all a bunch of crooks!!!!!!
If you get in the Auction business we'll just have to come up with a New CL to fill the void because CL will morph into Ebay in no time
JUST SAY NO you got a really good thing going regardless if there is some abuse do your best to stop it but don't change anything.....IF it ain't brole don't fix it.....PLEASE
Oh by the way never sold anything on either site but have bought on both.....just love CL

for the people who back ebay... You are whats wrong with online auction sites. If craigslist would go into that arena it would swallow ebay and Maybe make the level field of playing in that area of Online marketing. The only way ebay makes money is selling Advertising like people who sell ads in Mags and papers at least use to. ebay owns operates and uses force If you decide to ever use them as a seller you get screwed! fees, rates, and then the Paypal fees and rates. its not like we need them.

I have bought and sold on eBay since its inceptions and could not agree with you more. They have ruined the market for antique and vintage one of a kind items and put many antique and flea markets out of business by making it appear as though so much of everything exists... which ends up up being poor knockoffs from China or reproduction crap. I bought and sold only antique and vintage costume and fine jewelry and I along with three partners have started an auction boutique for antique and vintage costume and fine jewelry called www.virtualgemsemporium.com. It was started as a response to all of the crap eBay has done to its specialty store and boutique sellers and buyers. The fees are the lowest on the internet and there are NO final valuation fees and all of our feature capabilities are also very inexpensive. We give more free stuff in our initial listing fee than eBay does and it has worked out great. Anyways I would appreciate a shout out to us since we have only been up since October 1 2008 and we do need more sellers and buyers and anything that you can give us would be very much appreciated... Thanks, Candy

Ebay is a bloated monopoly and should be illegal. That's all they need to do is control Craigslist, the last bastion of freedom in the online classified world. Ebay already bought out and destroyed it's virtually only competition, Yahoo auctions USA, then bought paypal and restricted any purchase of adult oriented merchandise with it, just to prove it's control over morality, like grandma Edra in Idaho cares if Billy Smith in Miami buys the Deep Throat 12 extended edition DVD to pass his lonely days. The Ebay gestapo kicks auctions with generic explanations as to why, and if you try to contact someone other than the sterile "Live chat" help, noone hears you. WHERE's the COMPETITION??? Are you telling me that a computer program manned by what, 3 or 4 people(???) is netting nearly 2 BILLION a year and NOT ONE computer geek out there has managed to write a program to compete with them?? Something is wrong with this picture! !! Even Bill Gates has Apple. C'mon fella's, there's gold in them thar hills! Grow some ^*&#@ and stand up to the giant, and maybe they'll realize that if we have a *real* choice, sellers won't put up with their restrictive, communistic crap anymore. (although I'm sure Ebay regularly buys out any potential competion, like yahoo) I've obviously had my share of bad experiences with Ebay.

Ebay is the worst online auction site ever. Last week I placed an auction for an item I had all courties blocked except the United States. I don't ship or sell outside the United States. This smart guy minerwade placed teh winning bid on my auction. I went into the details to send him an invoice. I noticed then that his shipping address is Queenland, Australia. I then looked at his contact information it said he lives in Craig CO. U.S.A.. I sent him a message , and indeed he lives in Australia. I filed a complaint with Ebay about the false contact information and that he should have been blocked. I filed this with Ebays Safehabor Tust and Safety Dept. What a joke, it has been over a week and no response. The illegal bidder made a complaint and had my auction that I just relisted pulled. Ebay is just a money hungry company who don't even follow their own polices. It is now their policy that a bidder can leave you negative feedback and call you all shorts of names. But as a seller you are only allowed to leave positive feeback to the high bidder. What a fair policy

Even if Craigslist didn't START an auction site...if they could just get on board with an existing one to give them some PR and backing I think that might be enough. If a decent alternative existed, I would move my 500+ auctions a month to it!
