Oregon “Hoax” Solved, Message Sent:

Kudos to law enforcement in southern Oregon for arresting the perpetrators behind this outrage.

Covering your tracks by posting on craigslist has about as much chance of success as pinning your name and number to door of the local police precinct.

Criminals take a giant risk when they use craigslist in conjunction with illegal activity, since an electronic trail is created that law enforcement officers can easily follow.

Glad to hear that arrests were made, after the trail was followed. Sad to read tho - just how far people will go to harm others…

Hope things like this will not prevent CraigsList from providing this great service.

I’m glad CL has created ways to track these future jailbirds! It’s ridiculous the scammers that are out there. Keep up the good work CL and Law Enforcement!!!

I have recently been called and sent emails from people using Craigslist to gain info on jobs wanted. It is the people wanting you to write acheck and send UPS or fed ex and then when they cash it , they will send you 10% to half. The victim is the one who cashes the check. DON”T DO IT. Report it and get as much information and report to the fraud division of your local police.

Its funny, cops, are they here to arrest criminals or were they implied to be deterents. Its hard to tell so many different cops out there, all I know is don’t trust any of them. When the time comes they will choose thier own side.

Amanda Leigh Grimes used Craigslist to advertise vacation properties in Hawaii that were fictitious and she is currently being held in Monterey County Jail. This is yet another example of the problem of fraud that Internet sites spawn. http://www.myfoxaustin.com/dpp/news/042109_Woman_Conned_Austin_Man_Online
