Of course the inverse is also true, where a lonely heart wishes for some arrangement, there is a person willing to offer companionship. All relationships are reciprocal. Don’t sanction Erotic Services? Great vote by refusing to participate. Just like other entertainment. Don’t rent, buy or cruise for Pornography. Trust me if the TRUE majority agreed then the “problem” would cease to exist! Typically a vocal minority, often with fiscal power or politial influence ACT as if they are a majority. I know there are those who, like myself, support adult entertainment but don’t have the time, money or stamina to stand in support.

Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it! Prohibition was a gigantic failure. It is ludicrous to believe that morality can be legislated. So this trickle down measure based on the pressures for some 40 odd District At tourneys focused on CL is not surprising, it smack of prohibitionism! They are attempting to subjugate a form of human sexual behavior that a portion of society arbitrarily deemed unacceptable. Just as prohibiting alcohol was a miserable failure, prohibiting by law or policy the business of Adult Entertainment is literally implausible.

In short, I will chose the value of my person, and my sexuality. I do not want government attempting to legislate my sexuality outside the confines of consent!

Necessity is the mother of invention. CL may play with these new rules, but the power of demand and ingenuity of numerous providers and customers will result in new and perhaps better options as to disseminating the information known as a post in ERS!!

about the people getting mad at cl for this it’s not there fault really think about it. they were left with no choice in the matter it’s all about money and politics. if they were against this you would of never heard of cl as far as erotic services. if you read the warning it said that they put erotic services in there to accommodate providers and the personals getting clogged with smut etc and what did people do clogged it with smut/

And on another note, this charity thing bothers me because i’ve been fortunate and have been lucky to just need to post to pay bills every now and then, or for a little extra money for the weekend, but some out there haven’t been. They’re the one’s who are going to really suffer. Do you think the homeless kid sitting on 18th and Castro begging for change, or the crowds of people in line at the library or GLBT center have credit cards? Some of them actually try to pull themselves out of despair, and off the streets by using your service. I’ve seen them do it. The old addage is that Charity begins at home. Well, look around our city, we need it. The FEW people, because i do agree there are some, that use your site for the wrong purposes should be singled out, should be banned from our communities in craigslist. But like your press release says, yours is a worldwide site now dealing with millions of people each year. If we placed fees on everything like that then why not just add another dollar or two onto the bridge toll because while you and I may not be speeding, somewhere on the bridge there is someone that the police aren’t going to catch and ticket. Your decision to go with this plan of action shows that you’re not willing to solve the actual problem by doing some actual work and come up with a reasonable solution you’d rather just punish everyone on your site. Thanks Craigslist, we appreciate the consideration. I just think you should remember that craigslist is a site that is only in existance because those people you choose to penalize.
