I own a striptease company in Denver, Co. Being a small town, we have two adult publications. The Westword and the Rocky Mtn Oyster. As an agency we have been using print advertising for years. Your website killed basically killed them as viable options for adverts. I’m not blaming you, times mean change and sometimes companies have to change with the times. I am a Christian and though I know that adult situations can be SEEN as wrong, it is not up to any of us to judge what’s appropriate and what’s not. I know in my heart that the entertainment value of adult services is a necessary component of the human condition. We do one on one striptease and private parties. No full service whatsoever!
The beauty of your website was that it’s heading was vague. Erotic services emcompasses all that is adult oriented from striptease to unfortunately prostitution. But that’s the beauty of it, it allowed us an opportunity to get to a clustomer’s door. Once, thay have a chance to see the beauty of our women it really doesn’t matter (except when they hobbyists and wiil not accept anything but sex. This happens more times than u think) they take the all nude striptease show.
My point is that other websites split their adult services into sections; Escorts, Dominance, body rubs, and striptease. Guess what get the most attention?
So what I’m saying is…everything in American society comes down to money not morals, unless there is money in talking about the degradation of our morals. That’s what the media and the politicians are doing…making money off the selling of “Where have our morals gone” statements. Someone is benefiting behind this whole mess.
I take steps to make sure that those not interested in this are not affected by adult situations. I don’t even give our website address in the phone book for fear of children obtaining it. You have too, I know you have through the hurdles we have had to jump.
Keep this in mind, you have really helped agencies and people make a living through reasonable rates regardless of what they did and especially in this recession. People were helped, and that you can take comfort in. We (as an agency) now have a choice to make, to endure and continue without you or give up and try something else.
Jim, your choice is to now weigh the good and the bad of continiung adult services and the consequences that come with that choice.
On one hand you have the gov’t that is making money either way. Some governmental agency (aka politicians) is making money endorsing the abolilition of CL’s adult services. They have a platform to stand on and the media has something to talk about. Meanwhile the people in the industry that have nothing to sell but the viewing of or actual sale of their bodies suffer.
On he other hand if you were to continue CL adult services, a number of things happen. You continue to make money, the individual governmental agencies continue to make money (LE will have an avenue to bust those that are really breaking the law. Those cops have a job and make money regardless of whether a bust is made or not.), the media still has something to talk about and the common man (or woman) still makes a living. {1st Peter 3:14 individually}.
Weigh the choice well Jim, but make sure your motives are pure in your heart concerning your actions and choose well. Remember that all around the world people hut and will continue to be hurt regardless of yourchoice. Just try to make a choice that helps more than it hurts.
Thank you for the number of years that your company helped in making my life a little easier. It wasn’t your responsibility but it helped just as well.

Sadly, most Americans have difficulty untangling Freedom from Personal Preference. Personally, I DO NOT PREFER the human body with tattoos and body piercings, particularly mine. BUT!! I will fight till death for the FREEDOM of CHOICE for those who DO PREFER otherwise.

I’ve strongly & deeply disagreed, been offended and utterly repulsed by some of the material in Larry Flint’s Hustler Magazine, particularly parody of Jesus Christ. BUT!! I defend & support his freedom to do so. And so would Jesus Himself, I believe.

Evil lurks not so easily in Light of Freedom, but kills, steals & destroys in Darkness of Control. Human history couldn’t illustrate that more clearly. Yet, human history also illustrates our never-endng tendencies to lose balance & fall for the beauty & innocense of evil, only to battle again for Freedom after its skillful deception & ugly intent become unmasked, revealing so clearly its cold and clammy clutch of Control.
