Trial Postponed
Our trial before the Delaware Chancery Court has just been postponed at eBay’s request, but it’s worth noting that the Chancellor has now granted summary judgement dismissing 2 of eBay’s claims.
As to the remaining claims, the evidence at trial will show craigslist and its directors adopted reasonable governance measures to protect craigslist and its mission from, among other things, eBay’s exploitation of its position as stockholder to harm craigslist and obtain unfair commercial advantage.
Here is the public version of craigslist’s trial brief.
The unrelated suit against eBay in California — for unlawful and unfair competition, misappropriation of proprietary information, deceptive passing-off, business interference, false advertising, phishing attacks, free-riding, trademark infringement, trademark dilution, and breaches of fiduciary duty — is unaffected.

Hooray on two of the charges being dropped!!!
Ebay is one of the most corrupt corporations on the planet — like right up there with Enron — they’re so greedy that they want is ALL, but are too stupid to manage it in a respectful, ethical way, so they want to STEAL it like they have so many times in the past.
Thank you for reminding me about their many, many, many other pending court cases in which people are suing them for all of their illegal activities
I hope you guys knock their d1cks in the dirt!
Vote **NO** for Margaret NitWhit (aka Meg Whitman) for California!!!! NO NO NO
~~~GO CRAIG an JIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~~~
The idea of EBay getting it’s hooks into Craigslist is sickening. EBay violated the trust of the people who built it. EBay management is duplicitous, greedy, short-sighted, and immoral.
Ebay(fee-bay) wants to be as close to a monopoly as possible. This mindset is unamerican as competition is part of what made our country great. Ebay will have to get used to the fact that change is as constant as their rising fees and shrinking support for sellers. If you go on ebay with the intent of strictly being a buyer and they still want your charge card information claiming it’s for age verification but they don’t have a good reply when you tell them a minor can have debit card.
In an interview an Ebay spokeswoman said “By the people, for the people.” which was her vaporous happy sounding foo foo way of saying they are all about doing good for the sake of the public. Try and get their help when someone trys to scam you on one of their auctions. I got 8 irrelavant form letter email replies from them over such a matter before I gave up. I guess form letter emails are more cost effective than having a real person actually read your situation and give a fitting helpful reply.
I’d like to ask someone at feebay “How much money is enough for you?”
Best of luck. Make them eat it.
Go Craigslist - there is a reason Craigslist is successful and eBay will ruin it.
